As the fall legislative session begins in Harrisburg, I am continuing to advocate and fight for policies that help create jobs in our region and throughout the Commonwealth. For instance, I intend to offer an amendment to impact fee legislation that would dedicate a one-third share of revenue to repair roads and bridges statewide. Based on projections from even a modest impact fee, a dedicated funding stream towards improving our roads and bridges would create thousands of direct jobs and hundreds more between suppliers and small businesses.

In the meantime, I want my constituents to be aware of the employers throughout the region that have jobs open RIGHT NOW. Looking for the right opportunity is challenging and time-consuming and can be frustrating. Many current job seekers have families and other responsibilities that make it harder to spend the necessary time searching for right job. The internet has become a tool used by employers to seek workers, but, many times, prospective employees are not sure where to look. Websites like Monster, dedicated to listing open positions, can lead to opportunities. In addition, most companies use their own websites to list positions for which they are hiring.

I hope that my putting this information together in one spot for you makes searching for the right job a little bit easier.
