Sen. Fontana Announces $5.3 million for Victim Service Initiatives

Allegheny County – Septiembre 9, 2026 – Today, Senator Wayne Fontana announced $5,333,957 in funding for agencies and organizations that serve the people of the 42nd District from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). These grants provide critical funding for victim services programs.

“I am proud to support the invaluable work that these organizations perform in Western Pennsylvania,” said Sen. Fontana. “I believe that our communities thrive when we all work together and these grants are a great example of state government, local government, and nonprofits coordinating to help our neighbors.”

Awardees that serve the constituents of the 42nd District include:

  • A Child’s Place PA – $154,571 in Federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Funds
  • Allegheny County Chief Executive Officer – $201,186 in Federal VOCA Funds and $194,297 in State Act 80 Funds for quality, training, and efficiency enhancements
  • Alle-Kiski Area Hope Center – $469,167 in Federal VOCA Funds
  • CASA of Allegheny County – $5,303 in Federal VOCA Funds for Training of CASA Volunteers
  • Center for Victims – $1,219,231 in Federal VOCA Funds
  • Crisis Center North – $452,307 in Federal VOCA Funds for core and mobile counseling services
  • Neighborhood Legal Services Association – $567,502 in Federal VOCA Funds for legal services for victims of domestic violence and crime
  • Pittsburgh Action Against Rape – $956,074 in Federal VOCA Funds for sexual assault and trafficked victims
  • Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh – $1,114,319 in Federal VOCA Funds for services for sexual assault victims

So far this year, Sen. Fontana has secured PCCD grants totaling $13.7 million for local governments, schools, and nonprofits that serve the 42nd District.

The PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency awarded $87.2 million this week to improve crime reporting, help law enforcement upgrade equipment, support victims of crime and victim service providers, and support county jail-based medication-assisted treatment for individuals with substance use disorder.
