Allegheny County – Abril 17, 2026 – Today, Senator Wayne Fontana announced a total of $6,151,067 in state funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for agencies and organizations that serve the people of the 42nd District. These grants provide funding to structured programming opportunities for at-risk school-age youth and violence intervention and prevention initiatives.

“A proven way to lower crime and recidivism rates is to address the causes of violence,” said Sen. Fontana. “I am proud to support these grants to organizations in our communities that work with our at-risk youth and with those who are re-entering society. Providing safe opportunities to connect with each other and with their community is key.”

The awards were made by PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee through two separate programs—the Building Opportunity Through Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grants and the FY 2025-26 Violence Intervention & Prevention (VIP) Grants—after receiving and reviewing hundreds of applications from across the state.
