Allegheny County – Noviembre 18, 2025 – Today, State Senator Wayne Fontana announced $1,915,000 in grants from the Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund (GEDTF) for infrastructure and redevelopment projects across the 42nd Senatorial District.

$180,000 to Char-West Council of Governments for improvements to the Ingram Tot Lot Park adjacent to the borough building, like new equipment, a new fence, and sidewalk and tree removal.

$180,000 to Light of Life Ministries on the North Side for renovation of its facility on Voeghtly Street.

$155,000 to Char-West Council of Governments for improvements to the Crafton Pool, including a new bathhouse roof, new water slide, concession stand upgrades, and an ADA pool lift.

$100,000 to Dormont Borough for its Next Generation playground pavilion.

$100,000 to Mt. Lebanon for demolition of the South Parking Garage on Washington Road to make way for an expanded facility with mixed-use housing.

$100,000 to the Sarah Heinz House on the North Side for renovations to its Youth OST Programming Enrichment Room, including repairs to walls, ceilings, and floors, and new radiators and seating.

$100,000 to the Allegheny Elks Lodge for its main entry historic stone façade rehabilitation project.

$75,000 to the Citrone Foundation for the purchase and deployment of a Sensory Inclusive/Accessible Activation Vehicle.

$50,000 to the Ben Avon Historical Association for its Elste restoration project.

“I am very pleased to announce so many grants to the communities and organizations of the 42nd District,” said Senator Fontana. “When we originally passed the Gaming Act, we made it a priority to ensure that people of our communities would directly benefit, and this latest round of grant awards again reflects that commitment.”

Sen. Fontana has secured over $7.5 million in GEDTF grants for communities and organizations in his district in the last three years.

  • Heinz History Center – Window replacement project, $45,000
  • Avalon Borough – Sanitary sewer structural repairs, $40,000
  • Northside Partnership Project – Asbestos remediation, $40,000
  • Quaker Valley COG – Bayne Park (Bellevue) ADA restroom project, $40,000
  • Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank (Bellevue) – Expansion project, $40,000
  • Community of Change Center (West End) – Facility and parking lot upgrades, $30,000
