Allegheny County – September 15, 2026 – Today, Senator Wayne Fontana announced $10,079,851 in project & infrastructure grants were awarded to communities throughout the 42nd senatorial district.
“Local Share grants help projects get across the finish line and I am proud to have advocated for these awards,” said Senator Fontana.
Sen. Fontana worked to secure the following funding:
- Arc Human Services, Inc. – $200,000 towards purchasing nine new accessible vehicles for the nine group homes Arc Human Services supports in Pittsburgh
- Center for Hearing & Deaf Services – $150,000 towards the purchase and installation of a backup generator
- Dormont Borough Stormwater Authority – $550,000 towards construction of an underground stormwater storage facility
- Ingram Borough – $131,757 to purchase a leaf collection machine
- Kennedy Township – $150,000 towards the purchase of a truck-mounted leaf vacuum system
- Light of Life Ministries, Inc. – $150,000 towards the purchase of three new vehicles
- McKees Rocks Borough – $400,000 towards creating a sewer separation system
- Medical Rescue Team South Authority – $265,201 to purchase a new ambulance
- Millvale Borough – $450,000 towards the reconstruction and stabilization of a failing section of Logan Street
- Mt. Lebanon – $400,000 towards the demolition of the South Parking Garage
- Neville Township – $325,000 towards improvements at Memorial Community Park
- Reserve Township – $582,704 towards the upgrade of its water metering system
- Riverlife – $200,000 towards constructing a permanent, ADA-accessible public restroom at Allegheny Landing Park on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail
- Sarah Heinz House – $150,000 towards the purchase of a 35-passenger shuttle bus
- Scott Township – $450,000 towards an expansion and renovation of its police facility at the Municipal Building
- The Education Partnership – $550,000 toward the construction of a new warehouse at its Storehouse for Teachers
- Uptown Partners of Pittsburgh – $207,544 for the redevelopment of the Historic Tito House
Also awarded grants in the 42nd Senatorial District:
- Allegheny County Library Association – $338,071 for a new bookmobile
- Allegheny County Sanitary Authority – $300,000 towards the purchase of a combination sewer cleaning truck
- Avalon Borough – $250,000 for repaving six sections of alleyway throughout the borough
- Bellevue Borough – $200,000 to complete improvements to Lincoln Avenue
- Carnegie Borough – $300,000 for roof repairs to the municipal building and the purchase and installation of an emergency generator
- City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire – $800,000 towards the purchase of a new pumper truck
- Community Alliance of Spring Garden and East Deutschtown – $250,000 toward the construction of a four-unit mixed-use building at 862 Spring Garden Avenue
- Green Tree Borough – $169,900 to install upgraded playground equipment at Parkridge Park
- Perry Hilltop Citizens Council – $400,000 towards the redevelopment of a childcare and community event center
- Pittsburgh Land Bank – $450,000 towards the Hilltop Property Stabilization project
- Pittsburgh Musical Theater – $500,000 towards the building renovation project on the West End
- Ross West View EMS Authority – $100,000 towards an emergency replacement of an ambulance
- Scott Township – $650,000 towards upgrades to stormwater collection system in the Oaks neighborhood
- Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. – $59,674 to purchase a new vehicle for enhanced event safety\
Sen. Fontana has brought Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) grants totaling over $33.3 million to the communities of the 42nd Senatorial District in the past four years. Statewide LSA grants are intended to support projects in the public interest throughout the state and are funded by gaming revenues.
