Allegheny County – December 11, 2024 – Today, Senator Wayne Fontana announced $2,714,182 in state and federal funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) for agencies and organizations that serve the people of the 42nd District. These grants provide critical funding for victim services and local violence prevention initiatives.
“The responsibility of keeping our neighborhoods safe, as well as caring for victims of violence, falls on all of us,” said. Sen. Fontana. “I am proud to support this investment into proven organizations that make an impact on the people of our communities.”
Awardees that serve the 42nd District include:
- A Child’s Place – $47,000 in State Children’s Advocacy Center funds.
- Allegheny Chief Executive Officer – $1,378,162 in Continuing County Adult Probation and Parole Grant funds and $37,068 in Federal Project Safe Neighborhood funds.
- Alle-Kiski Area Hope Center – $15,164 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, Rights and Services Act (RASA) funds, and Victims of Juvenile Offender (VOJO) funds.
- Brothers and Sisters Emerging – $26,520 in Federal Project Safe Neighborhood funds.
- Center for Victims – $855,638 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, RASA funds, and VOJO funds.
- Crisis Center North, Inc. – $18,583 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, RASA funds, and VOJO funds.
- Duquesne University – $50,000 in State Endowment Act – Treatment Training funds.
- Neighborhood Resilience Project – $18,623 in Federal Project Safe Neighborhood funds.
- Pittsburgh Action Against Rape – $80,395 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, RASA funds, and VOJO funds.
- SisTers PGH Corp – $75,000 in Federal STOP Violence Against Women Act funds.
- The Pittsburgh Contingency, Inc. – $32,361 in Federal Project Safe Neighborhood funds.
- Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh – $53,147 in Federal Victims of Crime Funds, RASA funds, and VOJO funds.
- Youth Enrichment Services, Inc. – $26,521 in Federal Project Safe Neighborhood funds.
Sen. Fontana has secured over $12.9 million in PCCD funding for organizations and communities in the 42nd District this year.
